Lots to think about this week, cat, vet, cattery, food, clothes, equipment etc. Roll on Thursday at 16:00hrs, "Yabadabadoo" as Fred Flintstone would say, Then its twenty five consecutive days holiday, twenty one of which will be chugging around the Leicester Ring, The Ashby Canal and the Market Harborough Arm. At least thats plan A. Plan B is to head on down to Limehouse Basin in London and back. Hopefully there'll be loads of rain this week to fill the reservoirs and canals and hopefully all of it will be at night so that it doesn't spoil the current users holiday.

We're going to try one of these, I'm fed up with wrestling that length of spaghetti from the front locker every time we fill with water. Yes, I know you have to unroll it all, but you have to do that with the spaghetti. We'll let you know how we get on.
Another thing I've invested in is a manual pump for the black tank. (Why do they call it black when its brown?) I refuse to pay £24.00 for a pump out when I can do it for free. Six pump outs and it will have paid for itself.

My advice would be to go to Limehouse. Not only would it be a great trip (I love the southern Grand Union, it isn't appreciated enough) but you would also not have the worry about Foxton being open and the low water between there and Leicester! Currently they are closed to all traffic except the (very) local hire boats and boats returning to their home moorings along the summit - which they are checking.

Plan 'C' has taken effect now due to 'erindoors' instructions. We were concerned about the restrictions near Foxton so we've opted for the peace and tranquility of the Fens. (Hopefully). Check out our latest blog.
